Full Professor at the Institute of Geosciences (CSIC-UCM)
Yolanda Sánchez Moya holds a Ph.D. in Geological Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid, and she is currently an Associate Professor at the Complutense University, where she teaches courses in the field of Sedimentology. She is affiliated with the Institute of Geosciences, a joint center of the CSIC-UCM. Over the past two decades, she has devoted special attention to Stratigraphy, Sedimentology, and Paleohydrology of the sedimentary record of river floods during the Holocene. Her interest lies in studying the hydrological and sedimentological response of extreme river floods to climate and environmental changes, aiming to estimate and prevent flood risks in the context of Climate Change.
