My research interest is soil degradation in terms of water erosion, organic matter loss and heavy metal contamination in Mediterranean ecosystems.  My research approach combines palaeolimnological, geochemical and dendrogeomorphological techniques to understand Earth surface processes at different time scales. Understanding the dynamics of past environmental processes allows me to better comprehend and predict the behavior of these systems in the future.
