Analyzing the sedimentary record to understand the past, present, and future of the Geosphere, and its interrelation with human activities over time. My research is multidisciplinary in nature and applies to various geographic and climatic areas, studying from ice cores in Greenland to small alpine lakes in the Pyrenees. These natural archives represent the processes operating on the Earth's surface at different temporal scales, enabling us to better understand the history of our planet. The natural archives we analyze are true "diaries" of the past; we just need to learn how to read them properly to extract the valuable information they contain. Understanding our past allows us to better contextualize our present and helps us predict our future in the context of Global Change.
